Talk to Us from Windows

Talk to Us from Windows

Linkify is a new SVXReflector client for Windows, developed by Adrian SQ8AM. It allows users to connect directly to the SVXlink/SVXReflector network from a Windows PC, without the need for Linux, Raspberry Pi, or virtual machine environments. This makes access to the SVXlink ecosystem significantly easier for operators who prefer working from a desktop or laptop computer.

SVXlink is a powerful open-source platform used to build and link repeaters, simplex nodes, and reflectors over IP networks. At the heart of many interconnected systems is SVXReflector, which acts as a central server linking multiple SVXlink nodes into a shared talk environment. When stations connect to the same talk group, audio is distributed across all linked nodes, creating a wide-area communication network that can span regions or even continents.

Until now, most SVXlink client implementations were primarily Linux-based or required dedicated hardware. Linkify fills an important gap by providing a native Windows client, enabling operators to connect to reflectors directly from their PC. This is particularly useful for testing, monitoring, portable operation, or situations where access to a radio, hotspot, or local repeater is not available.

With Linkify installed, users can connect to a reflector and join active talk groups such as FM Poland 3109312, making it possible to participate in live QSOs directly from Windows. The application is designed with simplicity in mind, offering straightforward setup and an intuitive interface for quick connection.
